Walgreens Show & Tell (September 30th)

Rolling Register Rewards is an artform. I feel like I'm pretty good at it, but how many artists create true masterpieces with 3 preschoolers going "Momma, Momma, Momma!" and touching everything and crying about having to sit in the cart and begging for Spiderman Toothpaste? :D

You can see most of the coupon matchups HERE.

Transaction #1:

Paid $2.47 on Gift Card
Saved $24.90
Used $13 in Register Rewards
Earned $15 in Register Rewards
Total "Cost": .47

Transaction #2:

**They were out of a lot of stuff at this store.**
Paid .73 on Gift Card
Saved $3.79
Used $2 Register Reward
Earned $2 Register Reward
Total "Cost": .73

Transaction #3:

Paid $1.49 on Gift Card
Saved $19.33
Used $8.50 Register Rewards
Earned $12.00 Register Rewards
Total "Cost": -$2.01

So I actually made a profit of .81 for the day! Not a masterpiece, but a fairly impressive little Paint-by-Number! Hehe...

As you can see, I'm using the small Hunt's Tomato Sauce and the Butterball Chicken Broth as my fillers. They are items that we definitely need and use. The tomato sauce is 39 cents and the broth is 50 cents--but you HAVE to scan the in-ad coupon to get that price.

Kroger Show & Tell (Mega Sale Finals)

I was not as impressed with this Mega Event as I was the last one. I still managed to score some good deals, mostly using coupons that I ordered. I really stocked up on Juicy Juice boxes and pepperoni Hot Pockets!

Trip #1:

Total Paid: $42.26
Total Saved: $107.86 or 74%
Earned $6 Off Your Next Order and $3 Off Your Next Chicken/Beef Purchase

Trip #2:

Total Paid: $32.24
Total Saved: $73.13 or 72%
Earned $2 Off Your Next Order

Total Mega Sale Spending: $74.50

Total Mega sale Savings: $180.99 or 73%

I still have $2 Off Your Next Order coupons

Hot Coupon Alert!

Print this $1 off any Pillsbury Crescent Rolls or Italian Meal Bread coupon! Like, right now! HURRY! Why are you still reading?!?!

Kroger has a Catalina deal coming October 5th thru November 1st, which I'm sure will pair with a sale at some point during the month. This would be a great coupon as is, but along with the Catalina it will be FANTASTIC!

Yes, I get very excited about FREE cans of refrigerated dough.

Thanks to Stephanie at Couponing 101!

Oooo, look: Another ONE!!

Thanks Money Saving Mom!

Happy New Year!

I know what you're thinking: {It's still September...Is she crazy?}

Well, yes, I am a little bit. BECAUSE I MISSED MY BLOGIVERSARY! It was September 3rd!

I was going back through some of my old stuff yesterday, reminiscing over some of the deals I've gotten over the last year, relishing in my witty repertoire, and being a little self-critical--but not in a bad way.

I once had high hopes for the Oh, Baby! series, but quickly learned that I am too long-winded (or is it long-typeded, heehee) and I do not have the time to dedicate to writing full-length articles. I'm okay with that, now.

On the other hand, I really really wanted to continue the Getting Started Series for people new to couponing. That was before I did the CVS & Walgreens matchups, and it was too time-consuming. So here's my solution for that one: From now on, when I post a coupon matchup, deals that can be had by a 1st week couponer will be written in blue. That means coupons from the most recent newspaper or currently available printable coupons. Neat, huh?

I've also noticed that I've pared down the content in my coupon matchups. There are two reasons behind this: 1. I've left the "Real World" and refuse to pay typical prices. I've gotten real stingy about what I consider a good deal. 2. I learned that you guys are smart boys and girls and you know how to read an ad yourself. You don't need me to type the whole ad--You're just screaming "Show me the Coupons" like Cuba & Tom.

Another thing--I really miss bragging sharing all my good buys with my readers! Gotta get more Show & Tell's going on again!

In the month of October, I will be focusing on two things:

Tips & Tricks: I didn't invent this unique way of shopping, but I'm pretty good at it and I've done a lot of research. I want to give you daily (?) tips to help you on your journey.

Fashion: "What?" you say. Fashion? Yup. I'll keep you guessing a little longer on that one. ;)

By the way, this is my 500th post! How climactic!

Also, on the back page, there's an offer to get Monsters vs. Aliens on DVD for only $4.99 when you purchase $20 worth of selected Coke/Hershey products. It's hard to come by coupons for these products, but if you plan on buying the movie anyway, it's a good deal!

Coupon Preview for September 27th

Everything I've heard until a moment ago indicates that we'll be receiving 3 inserts in Sunday's paper: 1 Red Plum, 1 SmartSource, and 1 Procter & Gamble.

But as I was checking the full preview at The Coupon Clippers, I spied an "Other" insert. I wouldn't count on this insert locally, but if we do get it--BONUS! :)

I'm still sticking with my Kansas City Sensei to get better coupons!

P.S. I know I'm behind on my Kroger and Brookshire's matchups. The Mega Event continues through Tuesday and you can see those matchups HERE. At Brookshire's this week, I'm getting FREE Luzianne Tea Bags with a .60 Manufacturer's coupon from the 6/21 SmartSource insert.

Sally Hansen Deal @ Walgreens

I mentioned that Walgreens had a Sally Hansen Deal in my weekly matchup, so I wanted to give you some details. You buy 3 participating Sally Hansen products, and you get a Register Reward for $5 off your next Sally Hansen purchase. If you have coupons, this deal is sensational. If not, it's still great.

The plain nailpolish runs from $1.99 to $2.99 depending on the store. (The Brandon store at the intersection of Crossgates Blvd. and Hwy. 80 has it for $1.99.) Then it's on sale for 40% off this week making it $1.19-$1.79. Buy 3 for $3.57-$5.37 and get back $5 towards your next Sally Hansen purchase.

Here's the kidker: This Register Rewards reproduces on top of iteself, which is not the norm for Register Rewards. So use the $5 off Sally Hansen product to purchase three more nailpolishes and get antoher $5 Register Reward for more Sally Hansen.

If you have coupons, here's the lowdown:

Use 3 with your first go-round.

2nd time, use 2 Manufacturer's Coupons and give those to the cashier first. Then give the $5 Register Reward. Make sure you have other items to absorb the overage.

Rinse & Repeat!

***This is a unique situation, so no guarantees. I have done this twice already myself with no problems, though.***

Want to Order Whole Inserts from a BETTER Coupon Region?

Our coupon region stinks. {Gee, not the first time I've typed that.}

I've whined. I've pouted. I've thrown a hissy fit.

Then I orderd inserts from clipperkc on A Full Cup!

I've learned that NO region gets every single coupon every single time and at the perfect value you want. However, areas in the Midwest and Northeast get FAR superior coupons to what we get. I've ordered coupons on EBay and from The Coupon Clippers before, but I've discovered that ordering whole inserts works better for me. Rather than 5-10 cents per coupon, I "gift" 25 cents per insert. Shipping is US Postal Service Flat Rate shipping. $5 for a Flat Rate Envelope, which will hold up to 35 inserts. $11 for a Flat Rate box, which will hold up to 150 inserts.

If you want 5 of each of the 5 inserts this week, it would cost $11.25 including shipping. Buying 5 at Wal-Mart would be $5. Buying them anywhere else would be $8.75. Most weeks, we only have 2-3 inserts and your cost would be even less ($7.50-$8.75 assuming 5 copies). Is it worth the possible extra expense? In my humble opinion...YES!!!

This week, our region didn't even get 1 of the inserts. I have a huge stash of things that I haven't even posted on here because I want to keep your info local. Velveeta Shells & Cheese Cups, Reese's Candy Bars, A-1 Sauce, Colgate 360 Toothbrush, Listerine Smart Rinse & Agent Cool Blue, Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs, Lunchables, Kraft Cheese, Velveeta Cheese, Nabisco Cookies & Crackers, and more.

To minimize the shipping cost and maximize our savings, I've partnered with a friend. We place one order and split the cost! If you'd like to participate and I see you regularly, please let me know.

clipperkc is actually named Anna and she gets inserts on Monday after the Sunday papers have been delivered and distibuted. She mails them very quickly, and I usually get mine on Thursday. Shipping times, of course, may vary. She prefers Paypal and you can contact her at ahershey [at] msn [dot] com.

Please mention "Coupon Insert Info/Order" or something of that effect in your subject line to ensure she sees your e-mail.

With my first order from clipperkc, I asked her to send a "potluck" or variety of some recent inserts in addition to that current week. I was so pleased with what she sent! There was a great variety and she didn't send me a bunch of old stuff to clear her inventory. She can send you a list of what is currently available including highlights of the most coveted coupons in those inserts, e.g. 8/2 SmartSource insert (includes FREE 2 oz. Glade Candles).

Just an FYI--I still buy at least one local paper so I can have all my ads and post accurate info on this blog to keep the info local.

Upcoming Kroger Mega Sale

I really can't believe that Kroger is having another Mega Sale starting Wednesday! One per quarter is the norm. Whatever--I'M HAPPY!!!

This sale will feature Kraft/Nabisco & Nestle products.

Coupon Mommie has a great matchup HERE, but she is in a different region. Keep in mind that our prices may be different, and you may not have all the coupons she has listed or your coupons may have different values. Go ahead and print the printable coupons now just in case they're not available come Wednesday.

Like always, the sale will run for two weeks. I'll post our local matchups later in the week!

Coupon Preview for September 13th

UPDATE: Our region appears to have only received 4 inserts. The General Mills insert is pretty nice, but there are a LOT of other coupons on the preview that we did not get. I'm DEFINITELY ordering whole inserts this week!

There a 5 scheduled inserts this Sunday! Your eyes do not deceive you! 5!!

Now, Lord only knows what we will get locally. I will be purchasing a few local papers and ordering some inserts as well (Gotta have my bases covered!).

These five inserts have a veritable SMORGASBORD of coupons--every category is covered! This will be a great week for newbies!

Check out the full preview HERE.

P.S. I have heard that Kroger is having ANOTHER Mega Sale starting next week. This will be the 4th (?) event in 6 months, I believe. That's pretty unheard of--but I'm-a-likin' it!
