Menu Plan: April 27th-May 4th

Menu Planning is about the last thing I feel like doing this week. Between my Bebe Girl's first birthday, preparation for a small couponing workshop, launching my new business, and my grandfather having a heart attack, I'm not sure how much I'll stick to a plan this week.

However, here's my effort:

Monday: Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo

Tuesday: No Cook--Hubs closing @ work

Wednesday: BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Thursday: Grilled Chicken, Grilled Corn on the Cob, Grilled New Potatoes

Friday: Soft Tacos & Mexican Rice

Saturday: Chili Dogs

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

Menu Plan: April 20th-26th

I know I’m a little late for the whole “Menu Plan MONDAY” thing…

Monday: Enchiladas

Tuesday: Eating at my Father-in-Law’s house

Wednesday: Fried Chicken with Mashed Potatoes & biscuits

Thursday: Shrimp Kabobs with rice

Friday: Pot Roast with carrots & new potatoes

Saturday: Rotisserie Chicken with couscous & brussel sprouts

Sunday: Leftovers & Sandwiches

Menu Plan: April 13th-19th

Last week went pretty well. Actually, that's stretching it a little. It went. That's what it did.

Monday was good.

Tuesday went fine (No scheduled cooking!).

Wednesday was a rough day around the house and we went to Cici's Pizza for a moment of peace.

Thursday, I decided to make Friday's chili dogs and realized we didn't have hot dog buns. We had Pigs-in-a-blanket a la Pillsbury Grands! biscuits.

Friday, I made Wednesday's meal.

Saturday, I completely burned the chicken & dumplings. They were not good.

I AIMING FOR A BETTER WEEK!

Monday: Crockpot BBQ Chicken w/Scalloped Potatoes & Green Beans

Tuesday: DH closing at work. PBJ's, Mac & Cheese, etc.

Wednesday: Pot Roast w/Rice & Peas

Thursday: Chicken Pot Pie

Friday: Homemade Pizza

Saturday: Steak w/Baked Sweet Potatoes & Spinach

Sunday: Leftovers & Sandwiches

Menu Plan: April 6th-12th

It's been awhile since I've done any menu planning--and my bank account is quite reflective of it! We have been eating out WAAYYY too much and I need to nip it in the bud! It's makes no sense for me to be stockpiling and "saving all this money" if we're blowing it on restaurant food.

Monday: Chicken Broccoli Braid

Tuesday: DH closing at work. PBJ's, frozen pizza, etc.

Wednesday: Spaghetti & Garlic Breadsticks

Thursday: Crockpot BBQ Chicken w/scalloped potatoes & corn on the cob

Friday: Chili Dogs & Chips

Saturday: Chicken & Dumplings

Sunday: Pot Roast w/Carrots & Red Potatoes Forgot it was EASTER! We'll be eating with family.

I'm also going to try and start breaking down the cost of meals to show you the difference that couponing, sale-shopping, and stockpiling can make!

Menu Plan: March 9th-15th

I've come to accept that Menu Planning and I have an "on-again, off-again" type of relationship.

Here's this week's attempt:

Monday: Leftovers

Tuesday: Meatball Lasagna

Wednesday: Crockpot Chicken served with rice & corn

Thursday: Steak, baked potatoes, & broccoli

Friday: Chicken Enchiladas

Saturday: Chili Dogs

Sunday: Pot Roast with carrots & potatoes

Monday, February 23, 2009

Menu Plan: February 23rd - March 1st

Last week, I went 50/50. I made the turkey on Tuesday and Turkey Pot Pie on Thursday with the leftovers. That was it. I'm even transferring over the meals I didn't make.

And I'm not giving up!

Here's my plan:

Monday: Chicken & Dumplings

Tuesday: Hubs closing @ work--no cooking

Wednesday: Sweet & Sour Meatballs with Rice and Broccoli

Thursday: Butterflied Chicken Breasts with Green Beans & Scalloped Potatoes

Friday: Enchiladas

Saturday: Homemade Pizza

Sunday: Leftovers

Monday, February 16, 2009

Menu Plan: February 16-21

I never got my menu plan posted for last week. I had only scheduled four nights, and I only stuck to three of those. The BLT's on Monday night were to-die-for! I'll only be scheduling four nights this week as well.

Monday: Turkey with Cornbread Dressing & English Peas

Tuesday: Sweet & Sour Meatballs with Rice and Broccoli

Wednesday: DH Closing @ Work + Church

Thursday: Butterflied Chicken Breasts with Green Beans & Scalloped Potatoes

Friday: Turkey Pot Pie

Wednesday, February 4, 2009

Menu Plan: February 2-8

It's Wednesday, but I still wanted to get my menu plan up. Last week, we stuck to all the main dishes and only had some variance in the side items.

Monday: Swedish Meatballs

Tuesday: Recovering from Stomach bug. As my friend Erin says "HELPY SELFY!"

Wednesday: Church + DH closing=PBJ or Grilled Cheese

Thursday: Sloppy Joes with corn & roasted red potatoes

Friday: Eat out using Restaurant.com certificate (Fernando's Mexican Dining)

Saturday: I'll be in Shreveport. DH will be at home with boys--I'm betting it'll be homemade pizza

Sunday: Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes & broccoli

Monday, January 26, 2009

Menu Plan: January 26th-Feb 2nd

Last week, I stuck to the plan every day except Sunday. I had forgotten about a meeting at church and one of our pastor's retirement reception right after.

Monday: Red Beans & Rice

Tuesday: Turkey Sandwiches (My Bebe Girl is having a procedure done in the morning (Please say a prayer for her!) and I don't know how long we'll be at the hospital or how she'll be feeling the rest of the day, so no cooking planned.)

Wednesday: DH Closing @ work + church=Taco Bell?

Thursday: Turkey Pot Pie

Friday: Pork Loin with Yams and Corn

Saturday: Buffalo Chicken Tenders with Roasted Red Potatoes

Monday, January 19, 2009

Menu Plan: January 19-25

Last Monday morning, my Bebe Girl's temperature was 104.7. The rest of the week was filled with taking care of her, so there was no menu plan.

Monday: Cheesy Enchilada Pasta

Tuesday: Sloppy Joes with Homemade Potato Chips

Wednesday: Country Fried Deer Steaks with Cornbread Dressing and Green Beans

Thursday: Chicken & Dumplings

Friday: DH closing @ work

Saturday: DH closing @ work

Sunday: Turkey with Mashed Potatoes and Green Peas

I'm back in the saddle!

Menu Plan: January 4-11

The extent of my menu planning comes from times when the payday was short and the cabinets/refrigerator were getting bare. I would make a plan to utilize the items I had and make them go as far as I could.

My DH and I were discussing today the benefits of menu planning: more healthful meals, kinder to the budget, less last-minute stress and temptation to run out and "grab something".

I don't really know why I haven't jumped on board before, but here is my first attempt at Menu Planning. My husband works in retail, and closing shifts are 1pm to 11pm. I don't typically cook a family meal on those nights. I spoil indulge my boys with their favorites: pizza, mac & cheese, PBJ, etc.

Monday: Enchiladas

Tuesday: Deer Roast with carrots and potatoes

Wednesday: DH closing @ work

Thursday: Pork Chops with cabbage and mashed sweet potatoes

Friday: DH closing @ work--I'm having Movie Night with my Momma!

Saturday: DH closing @ work

Sunday: Don't have DH's schedule yet, but I'm throwing a baby shower from 2-4pm. Pizza?
